No Need For Antibacterial Soap

Do you use antibacterial soap?

Most people who use antibacterial soap are doing so because they believe that it works better than regular soap. Truth be told there is no difference in effectiveness between antibacterial soap and regular soap and water. In fact, antibacterial soap can actually cause more harm than good. The chemicals in antibacterial soap have been linked to cancer, reproductive problems, and after washed down the drain a great deal of it does not break down and isn't able to be fully removed by water treatment plants. This means that these chemicals can be found in surface water and streams. Another problem with antibacterial ingredients- they can add to the problem of antibiotic resistance.

If you use antibacterial soap you may want to read the following article and next time you need soap, reach for regular soap. It works just as well!
