No Need For Antibacterial Soap

Do you use antibacterial soap?

Most people who use antibacterial soap are doing so because they believe that it works better than regular soap. Truth be told there is no difference in effectiveness between antibacterial soap and regular soap and water. In fact, antibacterial soap can actually cause more harm than good. The chemicals in antibacterial soap have been linked to cancer, reproductive problems, and after washed down the drain a great deal of it does not break down and isn't able to be fully removed by water treatment plants. This means that these chemicals can be found in surface water and streams. Another problem with antibacterial ingredients- they can add to the problem of antibiotic resistance.

If you use antibacterial soap you may want to read the following article and next time you need soap, reach for regular soap. It works just as well!

Shampoo, Lotion, and Sunscreen... Oh My!

Most of us use makeup, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, sunscreen, toothpaste and other personal care items everyday but how many people think about what ingredients are in these products? Sadly, not many. Not only do we not put too much thought into what is in these everyday products, even if we do, finding accurate info and healthy products can be incredibly confusing. Labels can be very misleading.

You may be wondering why it's important to know what is in the products you use. Well, an easy explanation... whatever you put on you may absorb. And you don't want to absorb nasty chemicals. This is concerning for anyone but especially those with little ones. Some of the soaps, lotions, and sunscreens available are full of chemicals that are not healthy! These chemicals can absorb through the skin, some accumulate in the organs, and some are even linked to cancer, and reproductive issues. These are not the products we should be using to have a healthy body.

It may take a little time to figure out what products are healthier but your body (and your childrens bodies) will thank you!
